"Red" Dutton Was Born In Russell, Mb., On July 23, 1898, But Most Of His Early Hockey Was In Calgary. He Was In World War I Where His Legs Were Badly Injured. He Returned In 1919 And Turned Professional With Calgary In 1921. He Played With Calgary Against The Canadiens In The Stanley Cup Round In 1924. He Was Signed Two Years Later To A Montreal Maroon Contract And Stayed With Them Until 1930. Then He Went To The New York Americans. In 1936 He Took Over The Management And Coaching And Retired From Hockey When The Americans Ceased To Operate In 1942. In 1943, Dutton Was Acting President Of The Nhl, And In 1943 The President. At The End Of The 1945 Season He Retired To His Contracting Business. He Is A Member Of The Hockey Hall Of Fame Selection Committee  HockeyPersonalitiesSports 1920
